Sorry I haven't posted lately, I just haven't been in the mood. Ava is still hanging out. They may try extubating later this week. If she fails then she will most likely get trached. I will post more at a later time. I just wanted to let you know that Ava is doing alright.

Hello, I am just wondering if you could, or would, explain why Ava (and Kaden) need to be trached. I mean, I understand the basic reason: to breathe, but why can't they breathe on their own?? Is it directly a result of the heart condition or another condition? Is it likely that someday they will be able to breathe independently?? Can they eat and drink when trached? Talk? (currently or in the future) Is it a lot of 'work' to maintain and up keep the trach for you on a daily basis?
Thank you in advance for the explanation if you want to elaborate and educate.
If not, I completely, completely understand.
It's okay if you don't want to post anything new for a while. We will understand, and it is understandable that you don't feel like writing about it. We will be praying, as always.
Tuck and I stopped by this am to see you, meet you face to face and give you a great big hug. You were not in yet, it was still pretty early. Hope you have a better day. I know it can easily get you down, hospital is not easy whether a day or 90. We had an appointment for Tucker's finger and come to find out they scheduled us with the wrong darn doctor and want us to come back tomorrow......I was, lets just say, NOT HAPPY!!! Like we just live in the basement or something, just buzz right up, come right back....UGH. Oh well, what do you do. I have to have it looked at by the hand specialist since he is a heart kiddo.....Todd is taking him but I might meet up with him there and IF so I might try to catch you then.
