Still Hanging Out

Sorry I haven't posted lately, I just haven't been in the mood. Ava is still hanging out. They may try extubating later this week. If she fails then she will most likely get trached. I will post more at a later time. I just wanted to let you know that Ava is doing alright.

Anonymous said...: Hello, I am just wondering if you could, or would, explain why Ava (and Kaden) need to be trached. I mean, I understand the basic reason: to breathe, but why can't they breathe on their own?? Is it directly a result of the heart condition or another condition? Is it likely that someday they will be able to breathe independently?? Can they eat and drink when trached? Talk? (currently or in the future) Is it a lot of 'work' to maintain and up keep the trach for you on a daily basis?

Thank you in advance for the explanation if you want to elaborate and educate.

I know it can easily get you down, hospital is not easy whether a day or 90. We had an appointment for Tucker's finger and come to find out they scheduled us with the wrong darn doctor and want us to come back tomorrow......I was, lets just say, NOT HAPPY!!! Like we just live in the basement or something, just buzz right up, come right back....UGH. Oh well,what do you do. A WALK TO REMEMBER

I walk to remember the steps you'll never take.

Our trek started long ago, before my belly swelled.
You were a love that grew-like butterfly wings that beat.
