Ava Rae Boeckman

Jan. 31, 2008 - May 7, 2008

Today, things took a turn for the worse. I do not have the energy right now to post much. The doctors did everything they could but sadly she did not make it through. I was able to hold her and tell her how much I love her. Nate was at work but drove down as fast as he could. This is so unbelievable to me. She was doing awesome. It feels like a bad bad dream that I can not wake up from. So unreal. Thank you all for all of your prayers.

I can not stop my tears. I was so sadden to see your update. I have been praying for your family for months now. I do not want to accept that my prayers were not answered the way I wanted. Nate and you are so strong and your faith is an inspiration to me. When I think times are hard for me I just have to remember you or read an update in your lives and realize how easy I have it. Thank you so much for sharing your life and struggles with us. Your trust and faith in God has made me even stronger. I will continue to pray for you and your family. God has called your little angel home and now she will truely be able to fly. She was so very lucky to have such loving, special parents. May God hold you in the palms of his hands as you go through this difficult time in your lives. Sheri and Terry Mueting, Corning, Kansas

My heart is completely broken all over again. I never thought that this is what it would come to. Ava put up such an amazing fight. There are no words that can bring true comfort to your hearts. But know that God loves all of his children, especially our perfect little babies...her wings are beautiful just as she always will be!
We want you to know we are here for you in every way. I am a little restricted to the KC area, but please please do not hesitate to call or email or whatever. And when you are ready we want to get together. We had very special babies, that brought us more joy than anyone could ever imagine was possible. Now they are our special guardian angels. Keep God as your strength, he will help you get through this time of need. May God bless you all!
Ava Rae, precious baby girl, rest in peace...we will see you again someday, but until that day you will NEVER be forgotten!
We love you!

There are no words to help or to describe the impact Ava had. Not only on you but all of those close to you and even those not so close that we're drawn to you by your incredible little girls fight!

I wish I had more eloquent words but all that keeps popping into my head is "THIS SUCKS!"

We love you guys and do not hesitate to call on us for anything at all!

I have been reading your blog for many months and praying for you, Ava and your whole family. I was so drawn to your story and the amazing strength of your beautiful children. Ava's life has made an impact on not just your family and friends but many people you don't know, like myself. I am a Mother to 3 and my heart goes out to you tonight as I think of the love a Mother has for her children. What a wonderful and strong Mother your amazing daughter had in her short time. I wish you peace, comfort and continued strength in the coming days. God bless...

There are no words, I cannot think of a single thing to say except that we love you. My heart is so heavy for all of you and words seem so meaningless in a time like this. Other than to tell you how much we love you and how much your family means to us. I never met Ava, but through your blog and sharing your lives with the world I felt like we got to experience a little of her amazing spirit. If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask.
You are always in our thoughts and prayers, big hugs from us both,

It's so very hard to understand
why one so small is taken,
leaving a Mom and Dad behind
with hearts so badly aching.

There are so many things in life
that no one really understands.
But the child you hold in your heart, God now holds in His hands.

Cared for and nurtured by the Father, she will grow and mature in His love, while angels guide and protect her in her Heavenly home up above.

They will tell her she was, oh, so special to you both, in every way ~
as they spend countless hours preparing for your reunion One Grand Day!

They will take her to the edges of Heaven and let her look, often, down below to see the Mom and Dad down here that she didn't get much time to know.

So as you gaze up into the sky,
know she's now in a Glorious place,
and maybe she's looking back to you ~ searching for a smile upon your face.

For I'm certain that in her little heart it grieves her to see you so sad, for she knows she had the very best ~
The world's greatest Mom and Dad!

Mere words, however kind,
can't mend your heartache:
but those who care and
share your loss wish you
comfort and strength.
May you find your strength
in the love of family
and in the warm embrace
of friends.

With Deepest Sympathy,

Tammy and Dean Martindale

There's a special Angel in Heaven
that is a part of me.
It is not where I wanted her
but where God wanted her to be.

She was here but just a moment
like a night time shooting star.
And though she is in Heaven
she isn't very far.

She touched the heart of many
like only an Angel can do.
I would've held her every minute
if the end I only knew.

So I send this special message
to the Heaven up above.
Please take care of my Angel
and send her all my love.

Amy, Nate and Kaden,

I am so sorry to hear about Ava. I can't believe she is gone. It seemed like she was doing so well. I have been reading your blog for about 7 months now. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine the pain you are going through. Ava was an angel on Earth and now is an angel in heaven. She was a beautiful baby and touched many people. She touched people whom she had never met. I don't think there has ever been a baby that has fought harder than Ava Rae. She brought joy to so many people. She gave people hope that miracles happen. May God hold you close in this heartbreaking time. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Amy, Nate & Kaden,
I was laying in bed tonite recounting the moments of the busy day I had and realized I didn't check on Ava today. As I began my nightly prayer for her, I had this strong urge to get out of bed to come check your blog. Now, my tears can't stop falling! That beautiful baby girl I watched you nurture and love when I was there last week... as we learned more about one another in her room; I cherish every minute of that day! Amy, we shared so much and I want you to know I'll be here for you in any shape or form that you need me to be. I have never stopped praying for her and I never will. Yes, today's she was blessed with wings from God, but forever she will be an angel in your hearts (and everyone else's too)! I love you all so much and wish I could take your pain away. Ava, you will not be missed, sweet baby girl!

We are so sorry for your loss, your whole family is in our prayers. I would like to share a poem I wrote for a good friend of mine who lost her 22 month old son.

Look Mommy!

Look at me mommy.... can't you see?
Out of millions of people, God's chosen me.
I'm an Angel now, in heaven above
I can watch over you, and all those we love.

And look Mommy look, I have a new friend!
He's someone real special, that God did send.
You'll never believe it, he's our family too
He'll always be with me, but right now we're with you.

He says you need strength, so you need us around
We're here for you Mommy.... but look what I found !!
There's so many toys and boxes of things....
but best of all, I got my own wings!!

God says I earned them, 'cause I was so good. I came home when he called me, just like I should.

So look Mommy look, I'm an angel above, I will watch over you and all those we love!

Prayer in Sorrow
God of all consolation,
in your unending love and mercy for us,
you turn the darkness of death into the dawn of new life.
Show compassion to your people in sorrow.
Be our refuge and our strength to lift us
from the darkness of this grief
to peace and joy in your presence.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
