Down Syndrome Awareness

Although my children do not have down syndrome, I have met many beautiful children through this blog who do. Tonight as I was watching the news I saw this video. Please take time to watch it. It brought tears to my eyes and made me realize that there are still many caring young people out there and gives me hope for the future, for my own childrens' future.

That was awesome. Your right. High school kids do have big hearts. One of my sitters has a 16 year old named Brett that is a special needs child. My 16 year old neice goes to the same school as him as well and she said everyone goes out of their way to give Brett a high five. So I know first hand how Brett is loved by all of his classmates. He and my Carson are good buddies as well. They act like siblings and fight over the toys and I just have to sit back and laugh.
You shouldn't have anything to worry about with Kaden. I can see a lot of Brett's personalily in Kaden. He won't have any problems I'm sure.

A couple weeks ago, a Topeka station aired that a local school, (I think it was Rossville, or Silver Lake) crowned a king who has Downs. It was just as emotional for that crowd too. Thank you for sharing this.
