Finally Eating

Today they started Ava's feedings. She is getting them through a NG tube right now (this tube is inserted through her nose). Finally, all of this pumping is paying off!!! We are hoping that she will be getting her chest close Monday, but that is still not set for sure. If she does get closed up Monday, we are hopeful that she will be off the vent by Friday...knock on wood. I will update later to let everyone know how she is tolerating the feedings...she is only getting 2cc's an hour at this time.

Amy,
I remember those days of pumping and storing all the milk waiting for the day they would start the feeds. So glad to hear she's finally eating! That is wonderful news! I hope she tolerates them well and shows no signs of reflux. I know we don't know eachother personally, but if you ever need to talk or someone to ask questions to, don't hesitate to call me. I went down the Norwood road in September with Tyler (HLHS, too). Still praying constantly for Ava, you and your family!

That is good news that Ava is eating and seems to be peeing fine also. Just goes to show that all the pumping is paying off, keep it up. Make sure that Nathan helps you out with Kaden and getting his feedings also. You two need to get your rest also so you stay strong for your precious little ones. Keep in touch and hope to see you soon.
Lots of love,
Pamela
