What a weekend...

This coming weekend is approaching fast...too fast. Ava's birthday is just a few days away. Please help us celebrate her life by sending balloons her way. I have had a few people ask me what color I think she would have liked. I think that she would be like her big brother...in which color doesn't matter, just the joy of the balloons themselves. However, she was definitely my "pretty in pink" girl (ok, she was pretty in any color, but my favorite was pink, maybe it's a girl thing).

So Friday, we have an appt in KC for Kaden's pre-admissions stuff. It is also my mom's 21st ; ) birthday. Saturday, of course, is our angels birthday and then Sunday we are headed back to KC to stay the next couple of days for Kaden's bronch. We have decided to go up on Sunday because it is about a 2 hour drive and it seems we happen to be first case every time. It's just easier to stay the night up there the night before. I continue to be concerned about how things are going to go (emotionally). With it being so close to Ava's birthday doesn't help anything. I worry about how Kaden will be feeling and if he will be able to express his thoughts about any of it. My heart breaks just thinking about what could go on in his head. One of us, Nate or I, will stay in the PICU with him over night. I couldn't imagine leaving him there by himself, I am sure that would be a very scary experience for him that I do not want him to go through (for any young child at that). Again, it makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it.

Well, then we will come home Tuesday. I'll go back to work and hope that Brody comes soon so I can take that maternity leave. I NEED a "break", work is stressing me out on top of other things.

One more thing...
I got a something in the mail awhile back about making a quilt block in memory of Ava to be used at the CMH. I don't know how many of you have seen the memory quilts they have hanging in the hallway, but that is what it will be used for. So anyway, I finally got ours done, (I know, last minute) but now I have to get it to the chaplain. I plan on calling her tomorrow to see if I can just bring it to her Friday or if I need to send it overnight. We will see. So, for those of you who visit the hospital...keep your eyes opened. I don't know how long it will take for them to put the quilts together, but if I hear anything I will let you know.

Thanks.

I believe we have an appointment Tuesday morning. So if your there, we must make it a point to see each other. What time is your appointment on Friday? Let me know and I can swing by and we can do lunch. Kaden and Carson can just dance to the jukebox since neither of them eat....sigh.....

Let me know. I'm sure glad to see a post from you. I'm ready for Brody to get here as well!!! I still have some clothes for you. (hint, hint)

I was thinking about pink balloons myself since I have seen you write about that before. The boys and I plan on sending them up the 31st. I think if I heard right, it will be in the 60's on her birthday. It will be gorgeous just like AVA!!! I think she planned it that way.

Take care and know I'm sending lots of hugs your way!

I know things are crazy....keep the faith. Maybe I can come down and meet you and kaden while you are in town. Maybe Monday? I work not too far from Mercy and Tucker will be in Daycare until 600ish, so i could leave work around 400 and be there shortly after that for a quick visit. If you need anything while here, call me. 858-4567 is my cell. Also, I think I will hold the bag and drop it off there, if that is OK with you.
I will be praying for Kaden that everything goes smooth and quick.
We will be releasing balloons as well. Saturday right? do you have an exact time yet?

I can not imagine what this 1yr Birthday is doing to you and your family. You will be in my thoughts continually, like always, and I will be sending Ava some Balloons. My kids will be gone, but I will buy one from each of us and send them to her.

Also...I'm gonna get with Kaci and see if her and I cant come up to visit you at CMH. I would love to meet you and give you and Kaden a G-R-E-A-T Big Hug!

Love you all and prayers coming your way!

Rach

PS...I dont know if you have been invited to my blog or not (since I went private, so send me your email address to luvfor9@gmail.com and I will send you one.)

FYI - I passed along your blog address to Adam at Pray for Kayleigh Freeman (via Facebook)... I told him about Kaden having the trach (since Kayleigh is getting one) and what a wonderful little boy he is and such an inspiration!! He said he would check out your site and read about him!!!
I hope you don't mind!

That 1st birthday is tough. They're all just hard, really. I'll see what I can do about getting a balloon... I'd love to see the quilt block, if you can take a quick snapshot. We won't be in the area to see it in person. ;) Keep holding on...

It sounds as if you are going a little crazy with everything happening at once. We are thinking about you guys. I know I haven't called in awhile but is Kaden's bronch something that has to be done soon? I guess I'm not really sure what that consists of. I know that CJ on one of CJ's surgerys (I don't remember which one) they had it scheduled on Madison's birthday and I called and explained it to them and they were awesome about rescheduling it for me for the next week. Just a thought. You probably want to get as much done before Brody gets here as you can. We will be keeping all of you in our prayers. If we can make it up to see you we will. I will call later to see if you are going to want visitors. Sounds like it will be a farely quick trip. Tell your mom we said Happy 21st Birthday. lol.

So will if you are not staying in the PICU will you be staying in KC while Kaden is in? I would love to visit, I haven't seen you in forever. Let me know. Also extra prayers for Kaden and a speedy recovery! Of course he has a very special angel of his own to insure that!
