Waiting...

I have been wanting to change my background for the last couple of days, but unfortunately the site I use is down right now. It is driving me a little on the crazy side. Hopefully within the next few days I can get it done, however, by then I will probably be a too lazy.

Well, yesterday I had a doctor's appt. They asked if I was having any contractions and I told the nurse that I didn't know if the were braxton hicks or real ones. So the doctor checked me. I was not dilated yet (which is fine with me b/c it is still kind of early) but he did say my cervix is softening. He then measured the baby. After doing so, he sat down and shook his head. He then says..."I don't know Amy, he is a big baby." He asked me how big Kaden and Ava were. I am confused about this part...he said something about the baby being 8.5-9lbs. Then he said something about having him at 38 weeks. He said that they will probably do an ultrasound at this time and see how big he is and decide from there. I am confused because when I first heard the 8.5-9lbs Nate and I figured he was talking about how much he felt Brody might weigh at birth. Well, then I started thinking, I told him how much my other two weighed and that I had no complications so why not just let me go until Brody decides to come on his own. So now I am wondering if he is thinking that he is at that weight now and that is the reason for his expression and comment after measuring me/baby. It would totally explain why I am as uncomfortable as I am. No joke. Today I woke up and could barely walk...ok, move. If I didn't know any better I would think that I was going to have him any day...like he is just going to fall out of me (ok that was probably too much information).

Today, I took out all the clothes that my mother and I bought, as well as the clothes that others gave us and separated sizes and did a lot of washing. Brody should be good for the 3-6months size. I am so excited. Baby clothes are the best!!! I can not wait to put them on him. I think I already have his "going home" outfit picked out!!! So now, I need to get everything else!!! After the appt. I started thinking, 38 weeks, that is in like 3 weeks from now. Not much time to get everything done and bought. Why am I such a procrastinator???

I wouldn't be too concerned that because your other two were biggish that this little guy might be. My first was over nine pounds and my second born was under 7 pounds. I would definately let bubby come when he's ready, but above all that I hope the labour/birth goes quick and easy for you and can't wait to see the photos of you holding your baby.

I hope all goes well! The last month of being prego with Izabel, I swore she was just going to fall out. I was dilated to a 4 and 50% for almost a month. Every time I moved, I seriously thought she was coming. LOL!

Get cracking on the things you need to do, just in case, you know..LOL! I cannot believe the time is almost here. It feels like you just told us. Have a good weekend!

If you put it off til the end, it keeps your mind off being so uncomfortable- you have lots to do now- soooo exciting!!! Hang in there and enjoy! Even though you're miserable, you just never know if you will get to experience this wonderful time again!!!

OMG!!! You are having that baby soon. I just know it! If he's already pushing nine pounds, you're looking at at least a 10 lb 8 oz baby IF you delivered at 38 weeks!! How does that happen?!!! Can I change my guess ?!! ;) You're tall, but little, so I'm surprised he'll be so big! Can't wait to hear the news, you better get everything done ...

Well the problem is that if you buy everything ahead of time, you may end up changing your mind. I don't know how many different things I've returned (or wished I could return). Oye!

I hope everything goes well and your little guy makes a fantastic entry to the world!

I procrastinated with Ava too. I only packed my hospital bag the night before she delivered and that was by protest. She wasn't due for two more weeks so I thought I had all the time in the world!!! My mom ended up having to wash everything for me while I was still in the hospital.

OMG Girl. That is a big boy. :) Baby clothes are the most fun, I have to agree. I had tubs of clothes for Tucker before he was born, Hunter had a wardrobe too. They are so cute and little and fun ...now I dont get to pick anything Hunter wears and Tucker could care less. He is all boy and messy!!!

This is Karen....I am commenting back to you about the comment on the vicks on Kadens feet. I ahve been doing the same with Tucker, it really does work to help him sleep as well. Grannie, Todds grandma who is 92yo, said to also put it not only on the chest but on the back. That way it isnt pulled to one side or the other and is covered both. I have yet to do that for Tucker. The doctor also told me that the cough could be from an onset of asthma. I dont think Tucker has asthma but will see after surgery if his cough lingers. I just hate it, as I know you do, when our kiddos are sick. It takes so long to get over the smallest of colds.
Thanks for commenting... :) Hugs

WOW! If you're right about the doc saying that he is already around 9 pounds and they gain 1/2 a pound a week with 5 weeks left holy smokes. He would be between 11-12 pounds at full term.....Ok not that I want to bum ya out but good luck girl. Of course I can't really say much since the largest baby I delivered naturally was Nikki and she was a mere 2 pouds 13oz. CJ was C-section at 5 pounds 12 oz. So the thought of you having a baby so big well I think I will just call you superwoman :). Remember though not to let the docs scare you into delivering early if you don't really want to. I have a friend who refused to induce and always went past her due date and both of her boys were over 11 pounds at birth (natural delivery). So I say do whatever you are comfortable with. Which I know you will. Try to relax a little and enjoy the last of your pregnancy if you can and don't fret the little stuff remember he gets to come home right away so it will be easier to get stuff done when you don't feel like your going to explode.
Thinking of you

They estimated Noah to be 7 pounds at 30 weeks. He was born at 10 pounds 14.6 oz at 36 weeks. Jonah was only 8, 3 at 38 weeks!

Well Carson came almost a month early and I didn't even have anything put up. I had just had my baby shower and then three days later....I was in labor. I had Carson two days later and I thought I had another kidney infection so I drove myself to the hospital ALONE and went to check in. I brough a toothbrush, shampoo/cond, and things like that thinking I would stay for a day and talk them into letting me continue my IV at home like the last couple of times. I was doing the stress test three times a week and was already coming in that day for one. She hooked me up and said no Kaci, that isn't pain from an infection, your in labor. What a shock that was because I never had back labor with the other two. So I didn't even come prepared at all for Carson. I think he has forgiven me. LOL

When is your next appt again??

I am very little/petite framed and I had an 8lb 15oz baby boy (2nd son) and he was 10 days late. He was born natural and born fairly easy. You'll be ok. I hope he is not saying that Brody is already weighing in at 8.5-9lbs. That would put him in the 10pound range in 3 weeks when you deliver. HOly Cow. Anyway...glad things are getting close and are going well. I will never forget carrying my 3rd and 4th children. From about 5months on, I thought they would fall out.

Cant wait to see Brody. You guys make beautiful children!

Wow, three weeks? That's so soon!! I can't WAIT to see photos!!

I love going through and washing the baby clothes too, probably my favorite part of being pregnant.

As far as him feeling like he is going to fall out, oh my gosh I remember that soooo much. Especially with Chloee and Rhett. I was for sure that Rhett was going to fall out after week 21. It didn't help that he was breech and he was constantly kicking my cervix and digging his heels into it. *Shudder*

Thanks for stirring up that memory for me. ;)

Praying for an easy and quick labor for you!!

I'm telling you, those big babies can make a girl miserable. I kept bugging and bugging my doctor about how big and uncomfortable I was but she just said "babies come when they're ready!" I too, was pretty little before I got pregnant with our second daughter (5'4" and 120 lbs) so everyone, the doctor included was shocked to say the least when Avery girl arrived weighing 10 lbs 3 ozs!!!! The delivery was o.k. until the end and her shoulders were stuck. If the doctor will let you go a little early, I say take him up on it! Good luck! I will keep you in my prayers!
