Here comes the three hour test..

So today I had my glucose test. I have to go back for the 3 hour test next week. How fun??? I am really nervous because the number was pretty high, and at the time I hadn't eaten for the day. I read about gestational diabetes on the internet just a little bit ago and it has made me very nervous. I don't know why for sure, I know there are many women that get it. I guess, just with everything we have been through with Kaden and Ava and then to put this on Brody as well as myself just scares me. I don't know for sure what to expect, just some of the things I have read bother me. Who knows, maybe it will be nothing when I go back for this lovely testing. I guess I need to change my eating habits anyway. Lately I have been craving sugar and unfortunately I have plenty of it in my house. I really need to say bye to it all, starting today. Man, that means I need to go grocery shopping for something I can munch on besides apples. They may get old really fast. Maybe if I start now, it will help me get back to my girlish figure faster : ), yeah right.

The doctor also talked about the size of Brody (this was before the results of my test). He said that they will keep an eye on things but that they may have to induce because he seems to be such a big baby. I wouldn't mind having him a little early, myself!!!

I hope all goes well for the 3 hour test... I will be thinking of you!!
When are you due??? I am guessing not too far off if you are doing the diabetes test now....

Lots of people fail the first test and pass the second test. You may be just fine and had an "off" day.

I had gestational diabetes with Aric. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. It sounds scary, but it's easily manageable. I ended up on insulin, but they said that not every woman does. Most of them can manage it with diet modifications. Even if you have it, in the grand scheme of things you and Brody will be just fine!

Amy,
Hello. I had gestational diabetes the last month and a half of my pregnancy with Aiden. I controlled it with diet and checked it myself with a glucose machine. If you have any questions you can email me at melissasions@yahoo.com. I'd be happy to tell ya what I know from my experience with it.

Congrats! I just found out your prego. I hope your 3 hour test goes well. I don't know where you live but Trader Joes Market has alot of sugar free stuff that I ate while i was preg. Its pretty good considering its sugar free. Ex. they have sugar free chocolate chip cookies.

I feel for you. I too had to take the dreaded 3 hour test with each pregnancy and I even cheated on the first test :) oops! I'll be thinking about you and baby Brody.

I'm praying for nothing but good results. You deserve a good result that is for sure!

You sound like me! Glucose test and big babies... how fun! I hope your tests come back negative for the diabetes, and I'm "pushing" to have him early too! A girl can dream! :)

Hope everything goes well with the test! I also had gestational diabetes with Halle, mine wasn't so easily controlled and I was actually having to inject 2 types of insulin up to 4 times a day. But that's pretty worst case scenario. It's more of a pain than difficult. I see there are already several mommies to talk to about it, and I'm always here too!
